Crawl Spaces
We already know that fiberglass cannot control or prevent air or moisture movement and infiltration. During the summer, warm humid air can flow around and create condensation, mold and decay problems in the floor system. That being the case, even if your crawl space is "properly" insulated with fiberglass, it will not prevent warm or cold air from entering and contaminating the living space of your home.
The lack of ability to completely fill voids and openings caused by wiring, plumbing, ductwork, and narrow or wide joist spacing can also create issues when trying to insulate with fiberglass insulation. If the crawl space is not fully sealed from your home with Demilec Sealection 500, Agribalance, or Heatlok Soy, there is a strong likelihood that contaminated air, earth gases, mold, rodents, and more can enter the living space. Spray foam insulation is the only product that will create an effective thermal barrier by sealing off all possible voids and openings from the underside of your home.
Demilec spray foam insulation in the crawl space is a superior insulation product that overcomes and surpasses the several disadvantages of other insulation products.
